Novatel Wireless / Telus Mobile Broadband Information

Thank you for purchasing your Motion Computing Tablet with the Novatel Wireless Wide Area Networking adapter.

A wireless broadband connection manager and active Telus wireless broadband service is required to operate your tablet on the Telus wireless broadband network.

Please perform the steps below to enable your tablet to operate on the Telus wireless broadband network:

Step 1: Confirm your tablet is Telus capable.

Step 2: Download and install the MobiLink Connection Manager.

Step 3: Go to http://www.telusmobility.com/on/business_solutions/connect_megabyte_rate_plan.shtml for instructions about how to establish a service account for the Telus wireless broadband network.

Step 4: Open and Configure the MobiLink Connection Manager with your Telus service account information.

Step 5: Connect to the Telus network.


Step 1: Confirm your tablet is Telus capable


A. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
B. For Windows Vista, select Device Manager. For Windows XP, click on the Hardware tab and then select Device Manager.
C. Click on the “+” symbol next to Modems.
D. Right-click on the Novatel wireless Expedite EV-DO modem.
E. Select Properties.
F. Select the Diagnostics tab.
G. Select Query modem.
H. Confirm the AT+GMM command shows E725 Telus as the response.

Step 2: Download and install the MobiLink Connection Manager


To install the Telus and Novatel drivers and connection manager, please perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Motion support driver page: http://www.motioncomputing.com/support/driver_download.asp.
  2. Select your Motion Tablet PC model and operating system.
  3. Select the latest MobiLink WWAN Software and click Save to download the MobiLink file to the directory of your choice.
  4. Unzip the file to a location on your local drive.
  5. Double-click MobiLink.exe and follow the prompts.

Step 4: Configure the MobiLink Connection Manager


To configure the MobiLink Connection Manager, do the following:
A. Before starting, you must contact Telus to obtain the required account activation information.
B. Open the Novatel MobiLink Connection Manager.
C. Click on the Menu icon at the top left corner.
D. Select Activation.
E. Follow the instructions.
F. Click on the Connect button to start the connection.
