The LE1600’s chipset is the Mobile Intel® 915GMS Express Chipset.
The 915GMS chipset offers a vast improvement in video performance (41% improvement in 3DMark score in one Intel benchmark analysis) and is equipped to support Microsoft’s Longhorn operating system when it launches in the future.
The 915GMS chipset was designed to support the new Sonoma architecture and a higher-performance memory interface, while the 855GME chipset was designed at the time that the previous-generation Dothan CPU architecture was introduced. The newer 915GMS chipset supports the new faster 400MHz DDRII memory available on the LE1600, while the older 855GME chipset supports the previous-generation 333MHz DDR memory.
The 915GMS chipset includes the Intel® GMA 900 Integrated Graphics controller with 128MB of video RAM, whereas the 855GME uses the Intel Direct AGP Integrated Graphics controller which includes only 64MB of video RAM.

DVI-D is digital only. DVI-I has additional pins to support analog video, and can support a VGA connection with the use of an adapter. The LE1600 uses DVI-D rather than DVI-I, since the LE1600 includes a dedicated VGA port.
Since Bluetooth and IrDA are the preferred means for synchronizing one’s Tablet PC with other devices, or for connecting to peripherals such as printers, Motion now offers both connectivity options on the LE1600.
While the 4-way directional control button on the exterior of the system continues to allow users to move the cursor up, down, left and right, the new scrolling capability of the Fingerprint Reader allows users to run the pad of their finger over the Fingerprint Reader either horizontally or vertically to accomplish scrolling when a scrollbar is present in a window. The Fingerprint Reader automatically switches to scroll mode when a scrollbar is present and when the system is not engaged in an authentication task.

The battery life with the Extended Battery plus the Standard Battery is more than 7 hours, depending on configuration and usage. The battery life with the Standard Battery is over 3 hours.
The Extended Battery attaches flat against the back of the Tablet PC. Simply slide open the centrally-located door on the back of the Tablet PC, fit the small four tabs at the bottom of the battery into the slots at the lower rear side of the Tablet PC, then flatten the battery against the back of the system.

The Standard Battery charges to 90% capacity in less than an hour and a half (approximately 86 minutes). It takes approximately 12 minutes more to get to 95% capacity. The remaining charge can be obtained by charging the unit for a further length of time, for example, overnight.
It takes about 3 hours to charge both the Standard Battery and the Extended Battery charges to 90% capacity. With an additional 21 minutes of charging, both batteries should reach 95% capacity.
The Standard Battery first charges to 95%, then the Extended Battery charges to 95%. The system then alternates between charging both batteries until a full charge is achieved.
The Standard Battery discharges to 35% then the Extended Battery is discharged to 3%. Power usage then transfers back to the Standard Battery until it reaches the discharge limit designated by the operating system. At that point, the system will go into Hibernation mode.
When both batteries are attached and have at least a minimal charge remaining, both batteries are completely hot-swappable. When using just the Standard Battery, or when just the Extended Battery is attached, either stand-alone battery is warm-swappable, meaning that either battery can be swapped quickly after going into Standby or Hibernation power management mode.

The Standard Battery provides 3+ hours of charge before requiring AC power to re-charge, sufficient for typical mobile usage scenarios when access to power between meetings and off-site visits is readily available via a charging station, auto/air adapter, or AC adapter. When the Extended Battery is installed along with the Standard Battery, the user can have about 7 or more hours of total usage time without the need to recharge as frequently. Since most users buy Tablet PCs for mobile use, extending the usage time of their tablet maximizes productivity and thus the return on their investment.
Both additional battery options improve productivity. On one hand, the Extended Battery more than doubles the total battery capacity while out in the field and its innovative battery logistics including its thin, flat design and hot-swappability make it ideal for maximizing up time. Carrying a second Standard Battery, while also a convenient way to increase effective battery life, requires the user to place the tablet in standby before swapping the batteries. The Extended Battery can be installed on the tablet in conjunction with the Standard Battery, eliminating the need to carry a second battery in your carrying case. The Convertible Keyboard is highly optimized to deliver the ultimate in mobility and convenience. The Think Outside Stowaway Keyboard is a very compact, foldable Bluetooth keyboard. It is best used in conjunction with the LS800 Bump case which provides a built-in kickstand for keeping the product vertical while typing.
The USB Mobile Keyboard provides a low cost, compact solution designed primarily as a companion to the Motion FlexDock.
The Motion Accessory Port is a special, powered USB port. While all USB ports provide power, the USB specification for power does not deliver enough power for more power-hungry devices such as large hard disk drives and DVD optical drives. The Motion Accessory Port combines USB 2.0 connectivity with the additional power required to power accessory devices.
Today, the Motion Accessory Port, combined with the Motion Accessory Cable, can be used to power the Motion USB DVD/CD-RW optical drive. With this configuration, external AC power is not required for USB DVD/CD-RW optical drive for use on airplanes or other environments that do not have access to AC power.

No, because it was specially designed to fit the LE1600 Tablet PC. Due the mechanical interface between the keyboard and the Tablet PC, the Convertible Keyboard cannot be used with the Motion M-Series tablets.
The choice of pointing device is a highly subjective one. Implementing a touchpad or trackball required growing the keyboard significantly in size – which did not support the mobile design goals of this product. Second, touch pads usually require the user to move their hands from the keys when typing a document. While this works well for web browsing, it can be considered a disadvantage for authoring or typing a document. Because the pen interface already provides an ideal pointing device for web browsing, Motion was able to optimize the keyboard pointing device to better support traditional typing tasks.
The Convertible Keyboard has undergone considerable life-cycle testing. The support stabber is tested to 5,000 cycles and the primary letter keys are tested to a minimum of 10 million uses. All special keys (such as Tab, ESC, Insert, etc...) and mouse buttons are tested to 3 million uses. Additionally, the mounting post support mechanisms are tested to a minimum of 5,000 open/close cycles.
Because the new Convertible Keyboard was designed in conjunction with the new LE1600 Tablet PC, the Motion design team has been able to optimize the connectivity and durability of the design. The new design also replaces the USB cable assembly in favor of a connector fixed directly to the folding support arm. This reduces the concern about loose connections.
