AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 27, 2003 - Motion Computing - an innovator in ultra-mobile computing and wireless communications - today announced that it has achieved its goal of 50 value-added resellers (Partners) by the first quarter of 2003. The company also disclosed plans to expand to more than 150 Solution Partners by the end of the year.
The growth of Motion's certified partner network, the primary distribution channel for the Motion M1200 Tablet PC and a wide array of accessories, provides greater access and visibility to each of the company's targeted vertical markets, which include healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services, legal, field sales and government. Earlier this month, CRN magazine awarded the Motion M1200 its Editor's Choice award in the Tablet PC category, based on innovative technology and exceptional channel support.
Motion's most recent partners include Computer One Inc. of Chicago, which focuses on custom software and hardware solutions in wireless Tablet PC environments; SIGMAnet of Diamond Bar, Calif., a large provider of custom procurement and CRM solutions to mid-sized and large corporations; and CommNet International of Voorhees, N.J., which develops innovative solutions to respond to logistics management, configuration and support challenges of the virtual workplace.
"The overall design of the Motion M1200 Tablet PC, especially its bright 12.1-inch display and the pen on paper feel delivers a real alternative to previous generations of mobile platforms, and makes Motion Computing a highly desirable business partner," said Anthony Block, president of Computer One.
"The expansion of our reseller program allows us to enter every vertical market where we expect the greatest opportunity for growth, as well as a vehicle to capture strategic horizontal users " said Ralph Spagnola, Motion's vice president of sales. "We are pleased with the overwhelming success of our partner program and the prospects of expanding to more than 150 in the U.S. and Canada by the end of the year."
