AUSTIN, Texas, June 11, 2002 - Motion Computing Inc., an innovator in ultra-mobile computing and wireless communications, has named Robert D. Repass vice president and chief financial officer.
Repass was a partner with TL Ventures, a venture capital investment firm widely known for its early-stage funding of successful technology companies. At TL, Repass led numerous investments and represented the firm on portfolio company boards of directors. He also performed interim executive roles for portfolio companies, including chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
"We're fortunate to have recruited a CFO of Rob's caliber," said Scott Eckert, CEO of Motion Computing. "He has vast experience with leadership roles in more than 100 private and venture-backed financings, IPOs and other public stock sales raising well over $1 billion."
Before TL, Repass was the southwest region managing partner and practice leader for the technology, information, communications and entertainment group in PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also was the managing partner for the firm's Austin practice, with primary responsibility for supporting more than 40 venture-backed and other high-profile technology companies.
Repass also spent several years as CFO of Ross Technologies Inc., an Austin-based start-up that designed and developed RISC-based microprocessors. Ross grew to more than $50 million in annual sales soon after its product launch, and was later sold to Fujitsu in a successful exit transaction for investors.
