Motion Computing Partners with Mi-Co to Promote Electronic Data Capture Software on Tablet PC

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 10, 2003 - Motion Computing and Mi-Co have announced a partnership to promote the use of Mi-Co's software on Motion Computings M1200 Tablet PC and leverage a joint focus on vertical markets such as healthcare and government.

Mi-Co's Mi-Forms Software System offers a unique way for mobile users to electronically capture, store, recognize and communicate handwritten information traditionally entered on paper forms. Mi-Co has extended Mi-Forms to run on Microsoft's Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, taking advantage of the operating system's new, advanced handwriting capture capabilities. Motion Computing will run Mi-Forms on its M1200 Tablet PC at Booth 5950 at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2003 Annual Conference and Exhibition at the San Diego Convention Center, Feb. 10-13.

"The Mi-Co team has been developing applications for data capture and handwriting recognition systems for more than a decade, and partnering with Motion Computing is an obvious choice for us as we promote our software for the Tablet PC in such key market segments as healthcare, public safety and government regulations and services," said Barrett Joyner, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Mi-Co.

"Mi-Co's focus on electronic ink processing and handwriting recognition for enterprise applications is a natural fit with the Tablet PC," said Kim Kasee, Motion Computing's vice president of marketing. "Motion Computing's partnership with Mi-Co will allow us to broaden the benefits of the M1200 Tablet PC and promote ultra-mobility in some of the most paper-intensive industries."

Motion Computing designed the M1200 specifically for busy mobile professionals who need more mobility than current notebooks provide. With a 12.1-inch XGA display that is 35 percent larger than a conventional 10.4-inch screen, the M1200 features a slim, clipboard-sized "pure" tablet design optimized for true mobility. Weighing less than three pounds in a base configuration, the M1200 uniquely integrates the industry's best hardware and wireless features with Microsoft's powerful new operating system, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. The pen and voice input enabled by the new operating system, combined with todays applications, enable productivity gains and an uncompromised mobile computing experience.
