Austin, Texas, December 7, 2004 – Motion Computing®, a leader in ultramobile computing and wireless communications, today announced it has been selected as a Top 100 Innovator by Red Herring.
The prestigious award is Motion’s 14 th major industry recognition of 2004 and the second from Red Herring. In May, Motion was named to the Red Herring 100, an annual list of the most promising private companies.
“Selection for the Innovation 100 puts a company in an elite group,” said Joel Dreyfuss, editor-in-chief of Red Herring. “The editors worked hard to identify the companies that will be driving the important technology trends in the coming years.”
Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated more than 1,200 submissions from 900 companies. The editors used a careful analysis of financial data as well subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy and dedication to research and development.
“As a company driven by market-creating innovation, Motion Computing is delighted to receive this prestigious award from Red Herring,” said Scott Eckert, CEO of Motion Computing. “The future of ultramobile computing platforms and wireless communications has never been more important to the customers we serve, and being selected a Top 100 Innovator is validation of the highest caliber.”
