Motion Computing Enhances Healthcare Productivity Software for Award-Winning Tablet PC Line
Austin, Texas, Oct. 4, 2004 – Motion Computing® today announced the second version of Motion Medical Pak, a suite of applications designed to increase healthcare productivity and take advantage of Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.
The new Medical Pak augments the operating system’s dictionary with more than 212,000 words, enabling fast, accurate recognition of healthcare industry-specific words handwritten directly within the Tablet Input Panel (TIP).
Medical Pak also includes applications from industry leaders Gold Standard Multimedia, Elsevier and Standard Register (NYSE:SR), and is designed for Microsoft Office 2003 and Motion's award-winning tablet PCs. These personal productivity applications complement the growing number of healthcare-specific software programs developed by Motion's independent software vendor partners and value-added resellers.

Developed in conjunction with Microsoft's Healthcare and Life Sciences group, Medical Pak is ideal for doctors, nurses, technicians and other healthcare practitioners who frequently reference medical and pharmacological information and complete healthcare forms. In addition to the enhanced TIP, the Motion Medical Pak includes:
- Gold Standard Multimedia Clinical Pharmacology OfficePak: Developed to work with Microsoft Office 2003, Clinical Pharmacology OfficePak arms caregivers with up-to-date, clinically relevant information on all U.S. prescription drugs, as well as herbal supplements, nutritional products, over-the-counter products, new drugs and investigational drugs.
- Elsevier Dorland Medical Dictionary and Spell Checker: The 30th Edition of Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary contains more than 125,000 medical definitions, covering the language integral to contemporary medicine. Elsevier Dorland’s spell checker adds more than 212,000 words to the Microsoft Office spell checker.
- Standard Register's physician office forms: Standard Register's physician office form templates, provided in Microsoft Windows Journal and Word, streamline daily office operations, allowing clinicians to spend more time delivering patient care.
