Motion Computing, Case Western Reserve University Form Strategic Technology Partnership

AUSTIN, Texas - August 19, 2003 - Motion Computing today announced a four-year partnership with Case Western Reserve University in which Motion will collaborate on research, development and testing with the university, its Strategic Technology Alliance (STA) affiliates and other partnership vendors.

The agreement also enables Motion Computing to sell its M1300 Tablet PC and accessories to the university's students, faculty and staff - as well as the STA affiliates.

Formed in 2002, the STA includes neighboring educational, research, cultural, health care and governmental organizations that share common goals and directions with the university. Currently, there are 17 STA affiliates, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Located in Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University is one of the nation's leading independent research universities, with programs that encompass arts and sciences, engineering, health sciences, law, management and social work.

"Being a leading innovator in mobile and wireless computing, Motion Computing is an ideal partner for the university's technology initiatives," said Lev Gonick, vice president of information technology services and chief information officer at Case Western Reserve University. "We're fortunate to have developed this relationship with Motion Computing, and look forward to incorporating the tablet PC into our research programs and classroom environment."

"Our partnership with Case Western Reserve University is another example of Motion's commitment to higher education," said Ralph Spagnola, Motion's vice president of sales. "Colleges and universities are excellent incubators for technological innovations.
