Motion Computing Readies New Tablet PC Model Based On Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology

New Platform To Accelerate Mainstream Acceptance Of Tablet PC

NEW YORK, March 12, 2003 - Motion Computing today disclosed plans to extend its family of award-winning Tablet PC products with Intel Centrino mobile technology, the first array of chips developed specifically for breakthrough mobile computing performance and wireless communications.

An innovator in ultramobile computing and wireless connectivity, Motion Computing currently markets the Motion M1200 Tablet PC designed around mobile Intel Pentium® III processors running at 866MHz and 933MHz. In mid-2003, the company plans to add a new model that leverages each component of the Intel Centrino mobile technology: an ultra-low voltage Pentium M processor, the Intel 855 chipset and the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection, 802.11b networking chip.

"Intel has placed enormous resources behind an initiative that will help propel the Tablet PC into mainstream computing sooner than later," said Motion CEO Scott Eckert. "Our customers trust Intel, and we're excited about the opportunity to collaborate with them to extend battery life, deliver better mobile performance, integrate Wi-Fi capabilities and promote the size and weight advantages of the Tablet PC."

"Intel is pleased to work with Motion Computing on the Intel Centrino mobile technology," said Anand Chandrasekher, vice president and general manager, Intel's Mobile Platforms Group. "We're pleased to see a company like Motion taking the initiative to make true mobility a reality."
