Position:  Senior Planning and Inventory Specialist

Reporting to: Director of Operations


Summary

The Senior Planning & Inventory Specialist is responsible for ensuring coordination, accuracy and execution of the manufacturing forecast. Also, coordination and receipt of products required to meet customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions (to include all or some of the following):

  • Create weekly worldwide forecasts for point of sale products, including all components and point of sale peripherals
  • Integrate the point of sale forecast with aftermarket and service forecasts
  • Review and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales numbers in order to recommend new and adjusted forecasted numbers
  • Analyze, recommend and adjust take rates on a monthly basis
  • Provide companywide product reporting and analysis on historical and current sales data for all Motion products
  • Constantly strive to improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy (i.e. large deal forecasting, international forecasting, etc.)
  • Serve as primary contact with contract manufacturers on all issues related to forecast
  • Plan and make weekly recommendations for all purchases for peripherals and components for Aftermarket, Upgrades, TAA and TC products including hedging and risk buys
  • Maintain a minimum of inventory to support customer needs
  • Analyze and adjust inventory levels on an ongoing basis including management of recommended lead times and safety stocks
  • Determine when excess or lack of inventory exists and work with the appropriate parties to remedy the situation
  • Establish, measure and report on planning metrics including forecast accuracy, inventory levels, days of sale inventory, inventory turns and aging
  • Facilitate monthly inventory review meeting with Finance, Procurement, Operations and inventory owners to review inventory metrics and actions
  • Lead weekly forecast and transition meetings with Marketing, Procurement and Operations
  • Lead weekly forecasting and product purchasing recommendation sessions with Product Marketing, Procurement and Finance
  • Large and special product (Intl and TAA/TC) deal forecasting including communication with Marketing and Sales to determine need for risk buys as well as lead time communication with Sales Ops

Qualifications and Experience

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 4-7 years work experience in one of the following preferred fields: Procurement, Production Planning, Scheduling, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, Actuarial Science
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong ability for process analysis
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to both internal/external customers
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into customer solutions
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working day-to-day tasks
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Skilled in team building and leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong Excel skills a must, also working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint, Great Plains experience a plus
